Eldred “Ellie” Lamar Foster, 63, of Marble Falls died Oct. 27 at his residence.

He was born Jan. 20, 1947, in Bryan to Eldred Leroy and Cora Lillian Hill Foster. He graduated from Marble Falls High School and Southwest Texas State University in 1971 with an education degree.

He was a teacher and a coach in the Bandera, Marble Falls and Lampasas independent school districts.

“Coach Foster” was well loved by his students, grandchildren and friends. He was friendly, outgoing and really cared about his students’ welfare. He had a gift for inspiring, coaching and relating to people.

He loved playing with his grandchildren, spending time with friends, fishing, hunting, football, horse-racing, washer pitching and bowling. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother Lillian Foster of Marble Falls; children Kristin Sagebiel and husband Jay of Fredericksburg, Chad Foster of Marble Falls, Nicki Hernandez and husband Dominic of Burnet, and Casie Wills and husband Denton Jr. of Burnet; grandchildren Joshua Foster, Lilli, Jaylee, Kolton and Charity Sagebiel; brother Bill Foster and wife Carmen of Marble Falls; and sister Joan Yost and husband Denny of San Diego, Ca.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A service is 11 a.m. Nov. 6 at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 2702 Mormon Mills Road  in Marble Falls.

Memorials can be made in his name to the Fellowship Baptist Church Building Fund or to a charity of choice.
