Highland Lakes residents are invited to help beautify RR 1431 between Marble Falls and Granite Shoals with the Hill Country Litter Lifters. Trash cleanups and wildflower seed sowing are planned for Saturday, Oct. 14, and Saturday, Nov. 4.
The Oct. 14 cleanup is from 8-11 a.m. and begins at Metzger’s Ranch, 5938 RR 1431 in Granite Shoals. Volunteers will head east along 1431 collecting trash on the roadside and then scattering wildflower seeds to bolster the highway’s beauty next spring.
The Nov. 4 cleanup should also run from 8-11 a.m., but details and starting location are yet to be determined.
Call Hill Country Litter Lifters at 303-887-5649 to sign up. The organization provides trash grabbers, safety vests, trash bags, and wildflower seeds. Volunteers should bring their own work gloves.
Hill Country Litter Lifters is an all volunteer organization dedicated to cleaning up the Highland Lakes region. Litter Lifters adopted the stretch of RR 1431 between Granite Shoals and Marble Falls in April 2022 and consistently partners with both cities on cleanups.
