Tee off for CASA on Oct. 14

CASA for the Highland Lakes Area’s golf tournament on Oct. 14 raises money for the nonprofit’s mission to advocate for abused and neglected children forced into the court system. A shotgun start is at 8:30 a.m. at Delaware Springs Golf Course, 600 Delaware Springs Blvd. in Burnet.

CASA, short for Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children, recruits and supervises court-appointed volunteers to advocate for children who come into the court system as a result of abuse or neglect. Established in Burnet County in 1991, the organization has expanded to serve Blanco, Burnet, Llano, Lampasas, and San Saba counties.

Each golfer pays $150, which includes a cart, greens fee, and meal. Four-person teams compete in a scramble format. Golfers of all abilities are invited.

Raffle and door prizes are available.

Sponsorship packages range from $75 to $2,500. Call Janessa Hardaway at 325-388-3440 or email janessa@highlandlakescasa.com for more information.
