The Hill Country Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace and The Church at Horseshoe Bay is hosting the third annual Bed Build on Saturday, Nov. 14, in Horseshoe Bay, inviting volunteers to help build beds for children in need.

The event takes place in the church parking lot at 600 High Ridge. Volunteers should register between 8:30-9 a.m. The church will provide free breakfast. The church will provide all building materials, tools, and safety equipment. Members of the local chapter’s CORE Team will supervise the build.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and sign a standard release form. Those interested can preregister by contacting Volunteer Coordinator Lorinda Peters at lorinda.peters@shpbeds.org.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a national organization that provides free beds to children ages 3-17 who do not have a bed of their own. Since fall 2023, the Hill Country Chapter has delivered 494 beds and is approaching its 500th delivery. The chapter plans to increase its output by 50 percent to meet high demand in the area.
