Ex-NFL kicker to make pit stops in Highland Lakes on book tour

An ex-NFL kicker and three-time Pro-Bowl selection, Nick Lowery, is headed to the Highland Lakes this week for conversations and signings during the launch of his new book, “Naked and Alone with 80,000 People.”

The Kansas City hall-of-famer and 1990 NFL scoring leader is making stops in Kingsland, Buchanan Dam, Burnet, and Marble Falls from Thursday, Aug. 13 to Monday, Aug. 17.

Since retiring from the NFL, Lowery has become a motivational speaker, activist, and author, reflecting on his career and raising awareness about homelessness and poverty in the United States through his organization, Champions for the Homeless.

Lowery’s stops in the Highland Lakes are as follows:

Thursday, Aug. 13

  • 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Wakepoint LBJ, 14757 W. RR 1431 in Kingsland
  • 4-7 p.m. at Highland Reserves Winery, 15603 E. Texas 29 in Buchanan Dam

Friday, Aug. 14

  • 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Boat Town Burger Bar, 152 Melodie Lane in Kingsland
  • 4-7 p.m. at Torr Na Lochs, 7055 W. Texas 29 in Burnet

Saturday, Aug. 15

  • 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Cuvee Wine and Piano Bar, 309 Main Street in Marble Falls

Sunday, Aug. 16

  • 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at The Hill Church, 1910 W. RR 1431 in Kingsland

Monday, Aug. 17

  • 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Kingsland Fitness Center, 2132 W. RR 1431 in Kingsland
