Marble Falls Area EMS fish fry Oct. 4 at Blue Bonnet Cafe
The Marble Falls Area EMS biannual fish fry fundraiser at Blue Bonnet Cafe is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4. Plates are $15. Dine in at the restaurant, 211 U.S. 281 in Marble Falls, or place takeout orders by calling 830-693-2344.
KBEY 103.9 FM Radio Picayune will broadcast live from the event.
Blue Bonnet Cafe has donated the catfish, fries, coleslaw, and hushpuppies to the fundraiser for more than three decades.
“They donate everything, and (always) have,” Marble Falls Area EMS Executive Director Johnny Cambell told KBEY in a recent on-air interview. “If you think back over the 30-plus years they’ve done this, it’s substantial.”
Public figures from across Burnet County will be in attendance. Per tradition, several will serve as volunteer waitstaff.
“Local elected officials and even some of our non-elected officials will show up and help,” Campbell said.
All proceeds go toward Marble Falls Area EMS education and training.
Fish fry tickets may be purchased at the door on the day of the event or in advance at the EMS station at 609 Industrial Blvd. in Marble Falls.
The next fish fry fundraiser is planned for March 2024.
Marble Falls Area EMS has stations in Marble Falls, Granite Shoals, Horseshoe Bay, and Spicewood. The five-ambulance, 24-hour emergency service currently employs about 40 staff members.
