Securely dispose of unwanted personal papers and help supply the Central Texas Food Bank with canned goods during the Pedernales Electric Cooperative paper shredding day from noon to 2 p.m. Oct. 18. People are encouraged to bring two non-perishable food items for the local pantry along with paper needing to be shredded to PEC’s Marble Falls office, 4302 U.S. 281 North. Limit is five boxes of paper per person.

The equipment can shred white and colored paper, stapled or Scotch-taped paper, and envelopes with plastic windows.

Items that cannot be disposed of include binders, paperclips, cardboard, newspapers, magazines, plastic, styrofoam, packing tape, and electronics.

The co-op is hosting the paper shredding day in recognition of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
