Central Texas Water Coalition President Jo Karr Tedder will speak on low lake levels at the next meeting of the Lake Buchanan Communities Alliance, which is 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 27, at the Lakeshore Branch Library, 7346 RR 261 in Buchanan Dam. The alliance is also accepting membership applications from individuals and communities surrounding Lake Buchanan.

The LBCA was formed in September 2022 to unite communities around the lake in an effort to combat steep hikes in waterfront leases by the Lower Colorado River Authority. The organization has expanded its operations and now holds monthly meetings to further strengthen the collective voices of its membership.

“One of the reasons we started this organization is our deep concern over Lake Buchanan and area water issues,” reads a media release from the alliance. “We intend to do our best to protect our most valuable resource.”

A question-and-answer session will follow Tedder’s seminar and the floor will be opened for discussion after the meeting.

Alliance membership applications are online. Contact info@lb-ca.org or 512-775-3689 and 512-769-3872 for more information.
