Marble Falls Spring Break Day Camp March 13-17; register now
Registration is open through March 11 for the Spring Break Day Camp hosted by the Marble Falls Parks and Recreation Department. The camp runs from March 13-17 at Lakeside Pavilion, 307 Buena Vista Drive.
“We are excited to give the community’s children something to do while out of school for Spring Break,” city Recreation Manager Daulton Mobley said in a media release. “This is as much fun for us as the campers.”
The camp is for ages 5-12. Registration is $110 for residents and $130 for non-residents. Campers will receive two snacks a day as well as a T-shirt.
Campers should be dropped off at 7:30 a.m. each day and picked up by 5:30 p.m. Activities include crafts, sports, and visits from the Marble Falls police and fire departments and Highland Lakes Master Naturalists.
Also on the itinerary is a field trip to Urban Air Adventure Park, 3944 RR 620 in Bee Cave, an indoor adventure park with obstacle courses, trampolines, ball pits, and other fun activities. The Parks and Recreation Department intends to use Marble Falls Independent School District transportation services for the trip.
“We understand that kids are out of school, but not all families can take time off from work or go on vacation,” Mobley said. “We want to provide a safe and inclusive environment for the youth in our community, not to mention a week of fun activities while they are on break from school.”
The five-day program expands on the Backbone Adventure Camp held last summer.
Mobley hopes the spring edition will be a similar success.
“There is always room to improve, but our campers had a blast last summer, as did the Parks and Recreation staff,” he said. “We intend to continue the fun into Spring Break Day Camp.”
