Joyce Elaine Scott was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 6, 2020, at the precious age of 74. She was born on July 26, 1946, to Ruby and Elry Ross of Llano, Texas.
Growing up in Llano, her parents owned and operated cafe(s) and the Llano Ice & Cold Storage House along the Llano river next to the bridge. She spent many hours helping her parents at both locations. From her parents, she learned the value of being kind, considerate, and respectful to all she met along her way.
She graduated from Llano High School in May 1965. She then went on to become a nurse, a field which she loved greatly. She had compassion, empathy, and genuine kindness for her patients and their families. She retired from nursing after 34 years of service to her community of Llano.
She met and married the love of her life, Bill Scott, in Llano at First Christian Church on June 27, 1967. Both Bill and Joyce were very active members of their church for as long as it remained open. Together, they enjoyed working on their ranch with their livestock and viewing the wildlife that occasionally would come into view. At home, she enjoyed gardening, flowers, working in their yard, and cooking for her family. Her strong faith in GOD never faltered or swayed despite her disabling physical limitations. She loved life and the value of family and friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
She is survived by husband, Bill Scott of Llano; son, Terry Scott of Llano; daughter, Christie Graves and husband Kevin of Llano; two grandchildren, Kevin James Ellett Graves and Taylor Ann Ellett Graves, both of Bertram; brother, Sonny Ross and wife Abbie of Llano; brother-in-law, Jimmie Don Scott and wife Brenda of Llano; niece, Melissa Seward and husband Tim of McGreagor, Texas; and two nephews, Michael Scott and wife Dana of Mexia, Texas, and Scott Scott and wife Kate of Corpus Christi, Texas.
