MARBLE FALLS — Though the Texas summer didn’t need any help, the Faith Academy Flames are heating things up as classes start Tuesday, Aug. 14.

Faith Academy, 3151 RR 1431 just east of Marble Falls, is the only private school for kindergarten through 12th grade in the area. It’s a great option for families, but it’s not a “traditional” school.

Faith Academy is a University-model campus that takes the best parts of public and private schools as well as home schools to help students excel academically.

If you’re new to the area and want to learn more about Faith Academy, you can start at its website, famf.org, or call (830) 798-1333. Or, stop by one of the many upcoming activities, including New Parent Training and football games. You can touch base with parents of students already enrolled in Faith to find out why they chose this faith-based school.

If you’re already a member of the Faith family, there are some things coming up you might want to know about beyond the first day of school.

For parents who have students attending Faith Academy for the first time, there’s New Parent Training from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, and 10-11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10. This is for elementary and secondary parents.

Secondary students are also welcome to attend the New Parent Training.

At 7 p.m. Aug. 10, the Faith Academy Back to School Blast will get everyone excited about the first day of school and catch the Flames spirit.

On Monday, Aug. 13, there is an Elementary Mock School Day so students can learn their schedules and the layout of the campus as well as meet their teachers. Students can find out what time they need to be there and in what class at famf.org (check the calendar).
