Charles Dwain “Chuck” Neely was born April 26, 1933, in Kaufman County, Texas, and passed away Feb. 4, 2018.
Charles retired from a railroad job in Dallas, where he worked for many years. He was also a U.S. Army veteran.
His hobbies included fishing and hunting. Most of all, he loved to make people laugh. He was also a big fan of horse racing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bonnie and Clyde Neely, who died when he was very young. His honorary parents, Blanch and Virgil C. Pitts Sr., and brother, John Douglas Neely, also preceded him in death.
Charles is survived by his sister, Joanne Moer; sister-in-law, Clara L. Pitts; nieces, Marianne Reaves and husband Monty, Connie Center and husband Mike, and Abbie Kaper and husband Randy; and nephew, David Moer. He also had numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Charles was loved by many friends and extended family members.
A graveside service is 2 p.m. Feb. 9 at Llano City Cemetery with Randy Kaper officiating.
