FROM STAFF REPORTS
MARBLE FALLS — A 54-year-old man walking to work died July 19 after two vehicles struck him in the 3100 block of U.S. 281 North.
Marble Falls police Capt. Glenn Hanson said officers arrived at the scene just after 5:15 a.m. and found the man deceased. Police identified the victim as David Paul Vanscoy.
“He lived in the Motel 6 and was walking to work,” Hanson said.
Officials said the man was walking southbound in the outside traffic lane when a late 1990s full-size Chevy pickup truck and later model Ford Expedition struck him. Both vehicles and drivers stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigating officers, Hanson added.
It was still dark at the time, Hanson said. As the drivers of the vehicles came around a curve, they didn’t see him and had no place to go.
“There’s no indication that either driver was impaired, and we don’t anticipate any charges to be filed,” Hanson said.
The deceased was transported to the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
The Marble Falls Police Department, Marble Falls Fire Rescue and the Marble Falls Area EMS responded to the call. Burnet County Sheriff’s Office deputies assisted with traffic.
A GoFundMe.com has been set up to help the Vanscoy family.

I drive by on my way to work. Actually the fire dept helped with traffic. The police where talking to each other
Really? You know, that officers need to talk to each other in order to coordinate an investigation. Especially where a death is involved.
I totally agree with you OldGoat.
