Ruth Christensen, 64, died Nov. 5, 2015
Ruth Christensen, wife of Gary Christensen, passed away Nov. 5, 2015. Ruth was born Jan. 4, 1951, in Millville, New Jersey, to J. Paul and Roberta Hunsberger.
Ruth was a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and homemaker. She was very talented, creative and detail-oriented in every project she worked on. Most people associate her with her crochet work. She worked as a secretary, a computer programer for tracking student grades and a librarian at San Antonio Christian Schools. For six months, she served as a secretary in the administration office of Incarnate Word College.
She played piano at Northeast Bible Church in San Antonio for a number of years. She was at her best when she worked on her craft projects. Several times, she completed a project only to take it apart because she missed a stitch or some color did not match. She came up with creative designs changing patterns used. She sold these on Amazon and eBay.
In the last few years, she spent extended periods of time taking care of her father, prior to his death, and her mother.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Gary Lynn Christensen; daughters, Nicole “Niki” Waggoner (Chris Waggoner) and Elizabeth “Beth” Smart (Randy Smart): brother, Daniel Hunsberger (Karen Hunsberger); mother, Roberta Hunsberger; grandchildren, Gary Smart, Justin Smart, Trevor Waggoner, Brianna Waggoner, Tyler Smart and Brandon Waggoner; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Juanita Christensen.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Paul Hunsberger.
