Eddie Paul Edwards, 89, of Council Creek died Nov. 4, 2015
Eddie Paul Edwards was born Nov. 25, 1925, in Johnson County, North Carolina. He died Nov. 4, 2015.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Paul Edwards Sr.; mother, Maggie Mae Collier Edwards; brothers, Walter, William, Charles and Bob; and sisters, Elizabeth, Margaret and Helen.
He is survived by nephew and niece, Glen and Sherry Edwards of Hampton, Virginia, along with many friends and neighbors.
Eddie lived in North Carolina until he joined the Army in 1944. He served in World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam. Eddie retired from the Army after 25 year at the rank of command sergeant major, the highest rank for a non-commissioned officer.
After retirement, Eddie went to work for Texas Blood and Tissue and bought his home in Council Creek, where he resided until his death.
Eddie loved to fish, always had a beautiful garden and loved all that he grew.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Nov. 12 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222. A funeral service with military honors is 10 a.m. Nov. 13 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
