FROM STAFF REPORTS

MARBLE FALLS — Members of the Marble Falls High School girls basketball program will scatter the area to “Beg for a Buck,” the Lady Mustangs’ new fundraiser.

The event is Oct. 23-Nov. 2.

The fundraiser is the idea of new girls head basketball coach and girls coordinator David Schubert.

“Each young lady in the program is required to ask 100 people for a $1 donation,” he said. “Each donor will receiver a business card-size schedule that includes our Lady Mustang Twitter handle to get up-to-date news feeds of game results.”

Fundraisers are an important part of any program, the coach said.

“These funds will allow us to travel and stay for an overnight tournament and purchase needed equipment,” he said. “I know this is an unconventional method for fundraising, but our goal is to get the girls to easily communicate with people they may not know and also for them to have the opportunity to meet and greet members of the community and supporters of the program who they may not know personally.”
