VOLLEYBALL: Burnet on streak; Marble Falls and Llano lose

BURNET — The Burnet High School volleyball team is on a six-match winning streak thanks to its latest victories.

The Lady Dawgs defeated Jarrell 25-15, 25-13, 31-29 on Sept. 8; Rockdale 25-10, 25-11, 25-17 on Sept. 4.; and Harper 25-20, 25-20, 25-19 on Sept. 1.

Head coach Salye Coles said her players adjusted to a variety of tempos against the opponents. Jarrell slowed down play, which resulted in an eight-point lead and set point. But Burnet closed the gap. Simply, the Lady Dawgs dominated from start to finish, she said.

Harper picked up the pace thanks to an offensive attack that featured multiple hitters.

“It was a fantastic all-around match for us,” Coles said. “Every single player was a huge combined factor to this win. I love watching this group of girls play.”

KILLEEN — The Marble Falls High School volleyball team lost to Killeen Shoemaker 21-25, 25-12, 15-25, 25-20, 6-15 on Sept. 5.
