HOOVER’S VALLEY — A 2-year-old boy has died and a 10-year-old child is in serious condition after a pickup truck rollover on a rural road in Burnet County, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety report.

The rollover was reported at 2:43 p.m. July 26 on CR 116 in Hoover’s Valley.

A 2002 Ford F150 pickup truck driven by 24-year-old Alyssa Burnam of Burnet was traveling west on CR 116 when, “for unknown reason, the driver lost control” and left the road, the report stated.

The vehicle went back onto the roadway across the other lane of traffic before the crash.

“The driver used faulty evasive action resulting in the vehicle rollover,” the report stated.

Passengers were 2-year-old John Xavier Myers and 10-year-old Maddix Heartline.

The report continued that Meyers was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead by Dr. David Lim at 3:46 p.m.

Heartline was transported to Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas in serious condition.

Burnam was not transported, according to the report.
