Lexey (Craddock) Griggs, 72, of Burnet died Feb. 27, 2015

Lexey (Craddock) Griggs, 72, of Burnet was born in Hobbs, New Mexico, on Oct. 11, 1942, to Bill and Lois (House) Craddock. She passed away Feb. 27, 2015, of pneumonia and the complications of aplastic anemia.
Lexey retired from the Texas Department of Corrections in 2014 but kept many close friends from her work at the Ellen Halbert Unit in Burnet.
She was preceded in death by her parents and the love of her life, Michael Griggs, who died in 1986.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Jon Boyar; son, Mark Griggs; sister, Annette; sister-in-law, Betty Karstetter; and many loving cousins, nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank Lexey’s wonderful Burnet friends and church family who were there to help her over the past few months. They also thank all of Lexey’s longtime friends who kept her spirits up with long conversations on the phone.
Lexey is now in heaven with Michael, her mama and several friends, and she’ll be a guardian angel to us all.
A memorial service for Lexey is 2 p.m. March 8 at Burnet Presbyterian Church. On the following Saturday, March 14, there will be a private party in Houston. Contact Tiffany at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222, for details.
