Anna Dawson Kopyar, born to Peter Henshaw and Catherine Milchak on Dec. 22, 1923, in Bucher, Pennsylvania, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 6, 2015.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Roy Justus Dawson and Joseph Kopyar; brothers, John, Frank, Peter and Washco Hensaw; sister Kathryn Kane; grandson David Kanouff; and granddaughter Marion Louise Dawson.

She is survived by sister Evelyn Kruse of Amherst, Ohio; son, George Kanouff of Toledo, Ohio; and daughters, Anna Lubawski of Bertram and Kathryn Roma of Burnet. Also surviving her are 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Kopyar relocated to Burnet in 1994 from Binghamton, New York, and previously hailed from Niagara Falls, New York. Mrs. Kopyar has and will always be forever known as “Grammy.”

A memorial service was Feb. 28 at Epiphany Episcopal Church in Burnet. Interment will be at Acacia Park Cemetery, 4215 Tonawanda Creek Road North, North Tonawanda, New York, in the spring.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to America’s disabled veterans, who were near and dear to Anna Kopyar’s heart.
