Beverly May Torrence, 70, of Sunrise Beach died Nov. 24, 2014

Beverly May Torrence, 70, of Sunrise Beach passed away Monday, Nov. 24, 2014. Beverly was born March 13, 1944, to Major Henry S. Torrence (U.S. Air Force-Retired) and Gwendolyn M. Torrence in Warner Robbins, Georgia, and was the second of four children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Tom S. Torrence; and nephew Shawn Torrence.

Beverly is survived by her life partner, John Hale; lifelong friend Rosemary Torrence; brother Timothy S. Torrence and wife Carol of La Rose, Louisiana; brother Terry L. Torrence and wife Eva of Sunrise Beach; nieces Rene Van Der Zee, Libby Horn, Jessica Torrence and Kathleen Torrence; and numerous grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at the Federated Church, 117 W. Lakeshore Drive in Sunrise Beach.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christ-Yoder Animal Shelter, 9150 RR 1431 West in Buchanan Dam, or the Sunrise Beach Volunteer Fire Department, 200 Sunrise Drive in Sunrise Beach.
