TOP PLAYERS: Brendan Sapp 60-yard touchdown pass from Josh Whitecotton for the winning score; Whitecotton scored the team’s first touchdown on a 15-yard run.

QUOTABLE: “(The eighth-graders) had a good season and showed great improvement from week to week. (The eighth-graders) were defeated on the scoreboard, but fought hard and finished the season on a positive note,” coach David Norwood said.

Burnet 7th A lost to Liberty Hill 25-22, 22-25, 21-25 on Nov. 3

QUOTABLE: “I am very proud of all the girls and the strides they made this year.  They have a very bright future ahead of them,” coach Glen Hafley said.

RECORDS: Burnet 7th A 6-2 for second place in district

Burnet 7th B lost to Liberty Hill 15-25, 4-25 on Nov. 3

TOP SERVERS: Jessenia Garcia, Emma Nisely, Marissa Miller, Tatum Davis, Elizabeth Nash and Leah Ng

QUOTABLE: “The score doesn’t show near the effort and heart the Lady Dawgs put in! They fought hard and volleyed back and forth many times. I am so proud of these girls and how much they have learned this season. They play as a team and have an amazing love for the game,” coach Crystal Syphrett said.

QUOTABLE: “I am so proud of how hard the girls have worked this season and how much they have improved!!  It has been a pure joy watching the girls grow and enjoy playing the game,” coach Crystal Syphrett said.

QUOTABLE: “We did not quite play as well as I know we can, but I feel like the girls really played hard on every point. We had some very good serves and several good plays at the net.  We also had some very good hits on the offensive side.  It has really been a growing season for the girls and I am very proud of the steps they have taken in order to improve each day,” coach Glen Hafley said.

QUOTABLE: “The Lady Dawgs were hustling, attacking the net and backing up their teammates.  However, the girls got in a bit of a slump and had a hard time getting serves over as well as returning the Liberty Hill serves. The girls had played so hard the entire season and improved every game!  I am so blessed to have coached a great group of young ladies that have unbelievable heart and passion for the game and their teammates,” coach Tamura Hurst said.

QUOTABLE: “The girls played with a lot of heart and fought for every point. This group of young ladies showed a great deal of improvement from the first week of practice. They all had a fantastic season,” coach Tamura Hurst said.
