Marble Falls golfers play Horseshoe Bay, Lake Travis tourneys
MARBLE FALLS — Members of the Marble Falls High School boys golf team recently competed in two tournaments.
Senior Thomas Winters played at the Chisholm Trail tournament Oct. 30-31 at the Horseshoe Bay Resort.
Winters shot a 81-83–164 to finish tied for fourth place out of 97 golfers.
“Thomas did not score the way he would have liked, but the courses were playing tough,” head coach Lonnie Tackitt said.
Meanwhile, teammates Alan Mezger, Chris Gregg and Christian Hunick played at the Lake Travis Invitational at Lakecliff Country Club on Oct. 27.
Mezger led the way with an 83 followed by Gregg with a 92 and Hunick with a 107.
“All three Marble Falls players improved from the first tournament, so we are moving in the right direction,” Tackitt said.
The Mustangs will play in its own tournament at Hidden Falls Country Club, 220 Meadowlakes Drive in Meadowlakes, on Nov. 21 and at the Ram Rock course at Horseshoe Bay Resort, 200 Hi Circle North in Horseshoe Bay, on Nov. 22. Each round begins at 9 a.m.
