Georgetown def. Marble Falls on Oct. 10

GEORGETOWN — The Marble Falls High School volleyball team lost to Georgetown 12-25, 14-25, 7-25 on Oct. 10 in a District 25-5A contest.

Lady Mustangs head coach Julie Downs called the Eagles a “very tough-hitting” team.

“The Lady Mustangs responded well to the tough assault of the Eagles, we could not play consistently enough to balance our offense with Georgetown,” she said. “The Eagles were able to conquer three wins from the Lady Mustangs.”

Marble Falls will hold its Hope for a Cure night benefitting breast cancer research Oct. 14 when the Lady Mustangs welcome Cedar Park Vista Ridge. Subvarsity teams take the courts at 5:30 p.m.

SUBVARSITY RESULTS: Marble Falls freshmen lost 14-25 and 26-28; Marble Falls junior varsity lost 20-25 and 12-25.

RECORDS: Marble Falls is 4-22 overall and 0-9 in District 25-5A play; Georgetown is 24-17 overall and 5-4 in district.

Burnet loses to Liberty Hill, Salado

BURNET — The Burnet High School volleyball team lost two District 25-4A matches last week.

The Lady Dawgs fell to Liberty Hill Liberty Hill 17-25, 9-25, 16-25 on Oct. 10 and Salado 16-25, 23-25, 25-17, 25-23, 10-15 on Oct. 7.
