MARBLE FALLS — Its beers are on shelves in Burnet County, Austin, Dallas and Houston, but folks will soon be invited to Save the World Brewing Co. to enjoy its brews on site.
The brewery, 1510 Resource Parkway, will celebrate its grand opening 1-6 p.m. Sept. 13.
“After the grand opening, we’ll have tastings and tours on Friday afternoons,” said David Rathkamp, who co-owns the brewery with his wife, Quynh. “We’ll see how it goes, and if it’s popular, we might start opening up on Saturday afternoons as well.”
The grand opening will feature a food truck, David Rathkamp said, and music from Zach Huckabee and Bryan Delerson.
An election earlier this year paved the way for the brewery to sell alcohol by the drink at the facility.
The grand opening also will feature a special release and Belgian-style ales on cask-conditioned draught.
The special release will be of its Sol Hominis, which translates to “The Sun of Man.”
The Sol Hominis is a Belgian Golden Strong Ale known to be crisp, clear, clean and complex.
Rathkamp said the brewery will release a few kegs to Austin-area stores to serve some of their beers on tap.
“It will be more accessible for people to try,” he said. “So if some people go into a bar and see what’s new that they want to try, it’s a way to introduce them to it.”
Save the World’s beers are bottle-conditioned, meaning the carbonation in the beer comes from the bottling process. Bottles are 22 ounces for the standard brews and 750 mililiters for special releases.
Save the World is selling tickets for the grand opening on its website, www.savetheworldbrewing.com.
