Local anglers grab top three spots in tournament

MARBLE FALLS — The high school fishing club in Marble Falls concluded the 2013-2014 season with the End of School Year Club Tournament at Lake Marble Falls on May 31.
The tournament had 11 boats, and the format allowed only three fish to be weighed.

The club will have one more meeting in early June with date, site and time still to be announced. Officials will present the Angler of the Year at that meeting.

RESULTS: 1, Lyle Schmidt and Jake Meadows, 13 pounds and 11 1/2 ounces; 2, Ben Stripling and Austin Ellis, 13 pounds and 6 1/2 ounces; 3, Austin Pegues and Dylan Frailey, 5 pounds and 3 ounces. BIG BASS — Ben Stripling, 7 pounds and 5 1/2 ounces
