Juanita June Hatfield of Llano, Texas, passed away peacefully May 20, 2014, at the age of 93. She was born June 4, 1920, in Dill, Okla., to John and Callie (Williams) Thomas. She was one of nine very close siblings.

Juanita married K.C. “Bill” Hatfield on Feb. 2, 1951, in San Antonio.

She graduated from beautician school and ran a successful salon for many years. The couple moved to Sandy Harbor in Llano County after their two oldest children graduated high school.

Juanita worked several jobs to support her family, even driving the school bus so she could be home more. She had a passion for building and woodwork, and she literally built and added on to her house many times with little help. Saturdays were filled with domino games and water skiing. She was not much of gift giver but made sure her family had what they needed.

She was preceded in death by husband, Bill Hatfield, on Sept. 5, 2006.

Survivors include her three sons, Clifford E. Hatfield and wife Mary of Hartselle, Ala., Daniel Clifton Hatfield and wife Carol of Tomball and Britt Hatfield and wife Sherry of Spicewood; daughter, Dr. Kim Hatfield Murray and husband Terry Kelly; brothers Murl Thomas and Johnny Thomas; sisters Callie Woods and Aliene Boyd; grandchildren, Shelly Hatfield, David Hatfield, Danielle Howell, Brad Hatfield, Mindy Shearer, Kelly Shearer, Thomas Murray and Seth Graham; great-grandchildren, Wren, Harry, Wade, Emily, Isabel and Braeden; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. May 23 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300. A graveside service is 10 a.m. May 24 at Llano City Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Vandeventer officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
