Ivan Al Woolverton went to heaven far too soon for his family, loved ones and friends on Earth to bear. He joined the angels on May 3, 2014, at the age of 28. He was born in Austin, Texas, and, from day one, his proud parents, Tony and Judy Woolverton of Sunrise Beach, Texas, knew Ivan was special.
They enjoyed watching their youngest child become a loving companion, a devoted father and a free-spirited man who always made the world a better place. Ivan graduated from Llano High School, completed course work at Austin Community College and, after testing his many skills, found his calling by fulfilling his passion for green energy as a solar installer.
Ivan was one of the fortunate ones in life who finds true love. He spent seven wonderful years sharing his love with his beautiful fiancé, Lindsay “Lou” Gillespie, who showed Ivan love, grace and compassion.
The water-sport loving couple’s life was blessed beyond belief with the birth of their beautiful son, Lake Hanz Woolverton. Ivan and Lindsey were scheduled to marry on Oct. 4, 2014.
Ivan lived a beautiful life. Everyone who crossed paths with him knew he was the type of man who would lighten the mood, give you the shirt off of his back and leave you laughing with his funny tales and anecdotes.
Ivan is survived by his sisters, Vanessa (John) Johnson and Trudy (Wyatt Larew) Woolverton; sister-cousins, Desirae Mitchell and Babe Diggars; along with many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, coworkers and a slew of friends.
A celebration of Ivan’s life was May 7, 2014, at Sunrise Beach Baptist Church.
Thank you to all friends and family members who came from near and far to express love for Ivan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in honor of his son, Lake Woolverton, at First State Bank in Kingsland, Texas.
