HORSESHOE BAY — The Scott & White Healthcare Foundation has received a $2.9 million gift from the Lake Area Health Center Foundation in Horseshoe Bay.
The donation includes the two Horseshoe Bay clinic facilities and land along with $400,000 cash, and it has boosted the funds for the Hurd Regional Medical Center in Marble Falls to $13.5 million, surpassing the halfway mark for the campaign goal.
“We are very grateful to the Lake Area Health Center Foundation for their generosity,” said Alfred B. Knight, president of the Scott & White Healthcare Foundation. “To exceed the halfway mark of the Marble Falls campaign is a tremendous accomplishment. We are excited for this momentum to continue.”
Lake Area Health Center Foundation board chairman Jim Jones said the vote to make the donation was unanimous.
“The Lake Area Health Center Foundation is very thankful to Scott & White for bringing great healthcare to our community,” he said. “… We hope that our gift will motivate others in the community to give to this exciting project.”
