Election Day is May 10 for Highland Lakes contests

BURNET — The Highland Lakes municipal, emergency service district and school districts elections are May 10.
There are a bevy of elections across the Highland Lakes for selecting school board members, city council members and even deciding major school bonds. The list of elections cuts across almost every municipality and school district. Below is a breakdown of those elections.

• The issuance of not to exceed $33,425,000 of Llano Independent School District building bonds for the purposes of designing, constructing, renovating, acquiring, and equipping school facilities and the purchase of new school buses, with priority given to demolition of a portion of Llano Elementary School and the existing baseball field, constructing new facilities and renovating existing facilities at Llano Elementary School, improvements and additions to Packsaddle Elementary School, Llano Junior High School, and Llano High School, improvements to existing athletic facilities and constructing new athletic facilities, implementing district-wide technology and safety upgrades and equipment acquisition, and construction new transportation facilities and acquisition of related security equipment, and the levying of a tax in payment thereof. VOTER IDENTIFICATION REMINDER
Under state law, Texas voters most provide a form of photo ID at the poll. The acceptable forms are:
- Texas driver’s license by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
- Texas Election Identification certificate issued by DPS
- Texas personal identification card issued by DPS
- Texas concealed handgun license issued by DPS
- United States military identification card containing the person’s photograph
- United States citizenship certification containing the person’s photograph
- United States passport
