FROM STAFF REPORTS

MARBLE FALLS — Everyone is invited April 12 for the second annual Walk for Life at Johnson Park.

The walk, sponsored by the Highland Lakes Pregnancy Resource Center, is a chance for community members to come out, enjoy the area walking trails and help support the center and celebrate life.

People can register at www.hlpregnancycenter.org as well as learn more about the organization. The Highland Lakes Pregnancy Center offers area women and men — single or couples — a place to go to get support, information and other services regarding numerous topics surrounding pregnancy. Some of the services include free pregnancy testing, free (limited) non-medical ultrasounds, private sessions with staff to discuss issues, community referrals, assistance with WIC and Medicaid applications, Bible studies, post-abortion support groups, maternity and baby items, informational literature and parenting classes.

The center is located at 206 Nob Hill in Kingsland. The services are free.

The Walk for Life starts with registration at 8 a.m. in Johnson Park, 230 Ave. J South in Marble Falls. People can sign up through the website and raise pledges.

Everyone collecting $30 or more will receive a free T-shirt.

The walk follows a course along the Marble Falls trail system.

But it’s not just a walk. There will be music, fun and fellowship.

Check out the above website or call (325) 388-0354 for more information on the walk or the center’s services.
