OBITUARY: Volker Steffen, 55, of Marble Falls dies March 21, 2014
Volker Steffen, 55, of Marble Falls passed away March 21, 2014. A funeral service is 10 a.m. March 29 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373. Interment will follow at the Steffen Family Cemetery.
He was a German immigrant who came, along with his young family, to the United States on March 29, 1986. Being visionaries, the young couple opened a machine shop in 1988. Due to hard work and perseverance, and being incredibly blessed, the “Dynamic Duo” launched and maintained a thriving business within the Marble Falls community called Dynamic Machine and Tool located on 703 Industrial Blvd.
What can one say about a life such as his? He was honored and loved by all who knew him.
His trustworthiness, truthfulness and integrity led him at home and in his business. He loved machining, ranching, his family, a good joke and a nice beer. He cared immensely for all his employees and never baulked at the responsibility of his daily load. He desired only good for his employees and others.
To know Volker is to respect him. He led others to reach beyond their own expectations. He was the father, provider, protector and friend we needed. There will never be another one like him in our lives. Our hearts are overcome with grief.
Volker is survived by his beloved wife, Gabriele Steffen; parents, Ewald and Lotti Steffen; and brother, Matthias Steffen and wife Carola. He is survived by his eldest daughter, Stefanie Benton and husband Erik; granddaughter, Emily Yunakov; and Emily’s father, Chris Yunakov. And finally, Volker is also survived by his youngest daughter, Christina Shaw and husband Jason; along with his two granddaughters, Gabriele Shaw and Madeleine Shaw.
May we endeavor to make him proud.
