OBITUARY: Clarence Edward Chance, 75, of Bertram dies March 22, 2014

Clarence Edward Chance, 75, of Bertram, Texas, passed away March 22, 2014, at Bertram Nursing and Rehab Center after a major stroke that changed his life. Born at home on Jan. 1, 1939, he was the son of Charles Coleman Chance and Alma Lee Chance.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother.
Clarence served in the Air Force from 1957 to 1969 and was honorably discharged as a captain after serving 12 years.
Clarence is preceded in death by family members, Charles Coleman Chance, Alma Lee Chance, Sandra Chance, Dick Collins and Bill Lentz.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; children, Sheila Lucas and husband David of Liberty Hill and John Chance and wife Rachel of Whitharral; two stepchildren, Dwight Baker of Plano and Shellie Polaske and husband Eddie of Thorndale; five grandchildren, who he reveled with when he was with them, Shawna, Gene, Jordan, William and Carson; and two sisters, Margaret Lentz and husband Wallace of Georgetown and Katherine Southerland and husband Jerry of Lake Jackson.
He will be greatly missed by his loved ones.
A memorial service is 1 p.m. March 29 at Bertram Church of Christ with Jim Allen and Keith Henderson officiating.
