Edward L. DeSpain died peacefully in his sleep March 15, 2014, at the age of 61. He was born June 28, 1952, in Burnet, where he lived until he moved to Smithwick with his parents in 1980.

He was a kind, gentle soul to all.

He amazed us all with the life challenges he incurred, and he never once complained.

He was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, watching the Food Channel, and especially, “Jeopardy.”

He was gifted and talented in the hobbies he loved.

Fishing lures and the beautiful art-canvas needlework were his most beautiful creations.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and June DeSpain, and infant twin nephews.

He is survived by sister Sherry Hays and husband Gerald of Marble Falls; sister Darla DiGiacco and husband Bill of Rochester, N.Y.; and brother, Larry DeSpain of Marble Falls. He is also survived by three nephews, two nieces, great-nieces, great-nephews and many other family members who will miss him dearly.

At his request, a private service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements by Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373.
