CEDAR PARK — The Marble Falls High School softball team added another District 25-4A road victory March 12.
The Lady Mustangs (14-6 overall, 3-0 district) beat Cedar Park 5-1 to remain tied with Dripping Springs for first place in the division.
Marble Falls led the game from the start, scoring a run in the second, two in the third and two in the sixth.
The Lady Timberwolves scored their only run in the third.
Going into the contest, Marble Falls head coach Chelsey Heller had said her players were returning to hitting fundamentals.
“I liked what we saw from some, but we still struggled in spots,” she said. “We hit when it counted the most. I hope to be peaking at the right time.”
Sophomore pitcher Makenzie Carpenter earned the win. The coach noted her teammates played well, too.
“Mak pitched a good game and fought through some tough batters,” she said. “Our defense played well and still had some errors to get down.”
