COLLEGE STATION — The Marble Falls High School softball team went 3-2 at the A&M Consolidated Tournament on Feb. 27-March 1.

The Lady Mustangs (12-6) defeated Round Rock Westwood 9-0, Lufkin 19-5 and Henderson 4-3 to begin the tournament at 3-0.

But they lost 6-2 to Little Cypress-Mauriceville and 8-1 to Aledo.

Officials have postponed the varsity game against Leander Vandegrift to March 5 at 6 p.m. at Scearce Softball Field, 2101 Mustang Drive in Marble Falls. The contest was originally scheduled for March 4. In addition, they cancelled the junior varsity game against Vandegrift scheduled for 5 p.m. March 4.

QUOTABLE: “We played well on (Feb. 27), just ran out of hits and juice the rest of the weekend. We played good teams and fell short,” Marble Falls head coach Chelsey Heller said.

RECORDS: Marble Falls is 12-6 overall and 1-0 in District 25-4A.

Mustangs at Hill Country Baseball Classic

 

KERRVILLE — The Marble Falls High School baseball team posted a 1-1-2 record at the 22nd annual Hill Country Baseball Classic on Feb. 27-March 1.

The Mustangs (3-2-3 overall) defeated Fredericksburg 5-3 and lost 8-4 to San Antonio Johnson. They tied San Antonio Lee 5-5 and El Paso Socorro 4-4.

RECORDS: Marble Falls is 3-2-3 overall.
