A graveside service for Gary Holland, 79, and Mary Beth Patterson Holland, 74, of Burnet is 2 p.m. Feb. 16 at Holland Cemetery in Burnet with Bro. Clayton Arnold officiating.

Gary was born in Burnet County on Nov. 27, 1934, to Santos and Julia Ellett Holland and passed from this life Feb. 14, 2014.

Mary Beth was born in DeRitter, La., on Jan. 11, 1940, to Lynn and Edna Patterson and passed from this life Feb. 15, 2014, just a day after her beloved Gary.

Gary proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict, worked for the Graphite Mine Co. for many years following and was a member of the Burnet Church of Christ.

Mary Beth worked at Shepperd Hospital in medical records for many years and also was a member of the Burnet Church of Christ.

They are both preceded in death by their parents.

Gary and Mary Beth married June 3, 1966, and she survived him by one day.

They are both survived by their son, Mark Alan Sexton; brother (brother-in-law), William Dale Holland Sr. and wife Kaye of Burnet; niece, Cindy Ortiz of Albuquerque, N.M.; and nephews, William Dale Holland Jr. and Gregory Holland, both of Burnet, and Grant Lovaasen of Temple; great-nephews, William Dale Holland III, Sam Reavis and Kenneth Reavis; great nieces, Tanya, Melissa, Laura and Nina Dale; nephew Thomas Holland, whose visits and time spent with Gary and Mary Beth meant so much to them; and longtime friends Annie Ramsey and Patsy Thomas.
