OBITUARY: Duane Harvey Obey, 84, of Marble Falls area dies Dec. 1, 2013

Duane Harvey Obey, 84, passed away Dec. 1, 2013, at his residence. He was born Oct. 14, 1929, in Marathon County, Wis. He was a longtime resident of the Marble Falls area.  

He is survived by his wife, Andrea (Donop) Obey; son, Ronald Obey and wife Kellie of Magnolia; daughter, Lynette Batte and husband John of Cedar Park; stepson, Bill Koch of Llano; and stepdaughter, Susanne Beeman and husband Craig of Winnsboro, La. He also is survived by grandchildren, Seth Obey and Holden and Dillon Batte; stepgrandchildren, Ashley and Emily Koch and Andrew and Joshua Beeman; and brother, Neil Obey and wife Luella of Kenosha, Wis.

Duane worked in sheet metal fabrication for many years and was the owner of Obey Sheet Metal in Marble Falls. Always the hard worker, he loved to build, fix and restore. He built his farmhouse from the ground up with his own two hands.

After retiring from Obey Sheet Metal, he enjoyed restoring antiques, cooking and relaxing on his “farm” feeding the deer.

Family, friends, business associates and the community are invited to attend a memorial service at 2 p.m. Dec. 14 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281  in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373.
