Steve Jordan edges Tom Schmersahl for Horseshoe Bay mayor

HORSESHOE BAY — Horseshoe Bay voters selected a new mayor during the Nov. 5 election.

Council member Steve Jordan edged out fellow council member and mayor pro tem Tom Schmersahl, 538-508.

Current mayor Bob Lambert did not seek re-election.

In the city council race, both incumbent Phillip Lee and Michele Shackelford ran unopposed for the two seats on the ballot. Lee brought in 599 votes while Shackelford landed 668 votes.

Horseshoe Bay residents also overwhelming approved the reauthorization of a local sales-tax rate of one-fourth of one percent for the maintenance and repair of municipal streets.
