MARBLE FALLS — Marble Falls City Manager Ralph Hendricks remained hospitalized Oct. 13 after a bicycle accident the previous day.”They did upgrade his prognosis to ‘good’ last night,” said Mayor George Russell on the morning of Oct. 13. “He had been listed in serious condition.”
Hendricks was riding with his regular group of cyclists during the morning of Oct. 12 when the accident occurred, Russell said.
“There’s a stretch of the ride where they can reach 30 to 40 miles per hour,” the mayor said. “Somewhere along that (stretch), Ralph hit something – I don’t know if it was rock or a pothole – and he went over.”
During the fall, Hendrick’s helmet came off.
Emergency crews transported the city manager to Seton Highland Lakes Hospital in Burnet before he was transferred to Seton Medical Center Williamson in Round Rock the same day.
Russell said, as of late Oct. 12, Hendricks remained unconscious.
The city manager suffered a fractured skull and clavicle along with broken ribs from the fall, the mayor said.
“We’re just asking everybody to keep him in their prayers,” Russell said.
