TENNIS ROUNDUP: Marble Falls beats Vista Ridge; Burnet-Liberty Hill reschedule

CEDAR PARK — The Marble Falls High School tennis team earned its first win of the District 25-4A team tennis season.

The Mustangs defeated Cedar Park Vista Ridge 10-4 on Sept. 10.

“Team played hard and executed better shots, especially at the net,” Marble Falls head coach Jeff Savage said.

RESULTS: Boys singles — Michael Holder won 6-1, 7-5; Mike Stripling won 6-1, 6-0; Regan Hanish lost 1-6, 1-6. Boys doubles – Stripling and Holder won 6-3, 6-1; Noah Guiillen and Liam Baskin lost 6-4, 4-6, 7-10 (tiebreaker); Regan Hanish and Jordan Childress lost 0-6, 0-6. Girls singles — Madison Dyer won 6-1, 6-2; Hanna Dockery won 6-1, 6-0; Tess Cryer won 6-0, 6-2; Kaylin Zavala won 6-1, 6-2. Girls doubles – Dyer and Dockery won 6-1, 6-1; Lauren Partin and Makenzie Harrison won 6-1, 6-4; AnneClaire McCannon and Savannah Vincent won 6-3, 6-1.

RECORDS: Marble Falls is 1-1 in District 25-4A.

Burnet and Liberty Hill forced to reschedule

LIBERTY HILL — The Burnet and Liberty Hill high school tennis teams faced each other in team tennis competition Sept. 10. But rain forced the two teams to finish the head-to-head matches Oct. 1 at 4:30 p.m. at Liberty Hill.

Still, some matches did finish. The Bulldogs came back to tie up the competition 5-5. The first team to win 10 matches takes the overall team tennis victory.

RESULTS: Boys doubles — Austin Hall and Austin Crain lost 5-8. Mixed doubles – Hailey Wilson and Price Carpenter won 8-0. Girls doubles — Mickayla Light and Brooke Hemphill lost 3-8.
