OBITUARY: Paydin Len ‘George’ Grogg, 19 months, of Kingsland dies July 28, 2013

Jesus said: “Suffer the little children to come unto me …” Mathew 19:14.

Paydin Len “George” Grogg, born Dec. 1, 2011, passed quietly July 28, 2013, at 4:30 p.m. surrounded by family at Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin.

He was preceded in death by his great-great-grandfather, A.J. Mask; great-grandmother, Cherry McIntosh; and great-grandfathers, Miguel Aponte and Oscar March.

Paydin is survived by his parents, Michael and Telisha Grogg, and older sister, Karlee, all of Kingsland; great-grandfather Charles McIntosh of Harker Heights; great-grandmother Arlina Aponte of Killeen; grandmother Jodie McIntosh of Seaman, Ohio; grandparents Michael “Q-Ball” and Kathryn Aponte of Kingsland; aunt Louise Aponte of Kingsland; uncle Justin Knight of Kingsland; and uncle and aunt J.C. and Cindy McIntosh of Virginia Beach, Va. He also is survived by his paternal grandmother, Jennifer Duncan, and uncle Makenzie Duncan, both of Pulowski, Va.; aunt Margie Davis of Elba, Ala.; as well as numerous cousins.

“George,” as he was called by friends and family, spent the 19 months of his life discovering those things that older people take for granted. He loved to play on the playground. His favorite things were books, elephants, cats and fire trucks. He didn’t have a special one, he liked them all. Many afternoons were spent at the park playing with his big sister and his cousin Abby. He smiled the biggest when he was in one of the swings there.

A memorial service is 6 p.m. Aug. 3 at the park located at Packsaddle Elementary School, 150 Pioneer Lane in Kingsland.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation in his memory to your local volunteer fire department or public park.

Cremation arrangements by Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 900 Industrial Blvd. in Kingsland, (325) 388-6767. Email whhfuneral1@verizon.net or go to www.whhfuneralhome.com for condolences.
