Gwendolyn Rawls, 88, of Marble Falls, formerly of Marshall, passed away July 10, 2013. Born July 30, 1924, in Marshall, she was the daughter of Louie Alvin and Mattie Lorraine (Harrison) Bachus.

Gwynne grew up in Marshall and was educated at Marshall High School. She lived temporarily in Detroit and Chicago during the Depression years. On Jan. 24, 1945, she married Lt. Patrick Durwood Rawls, also of Marshall, after his return from World War II. Upon moving to Marble Falls, Gwynne became a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Gwynne is survived by her daughters Suzanne Rawls Graham and husband Thomas of Horseshoe Bay and Linda Rawls Kerr of Austin; grandchildren, Natalie Graham Brannon and husband Phil of The Woodlands, Kelly Leigh Graham Richards and husband Rob of Tacoma, Wash., William Kerr and wife Gabrielle of Austin, Landon Hawk and wife Lisa of Farmersville and Lucas Hawk, Gordon Freeman and Carlin Freeman, all of Longview; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Brannon, Patrick Hawk, Kaitlyn Hawk and Tucker Hawk; and step-great-grandchildren, Wilson Richards and Christopher Tanton.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Charlotte Bachus Gould; and daughter Mary Nell Rawls Hawk Freeman.

Visitation is 5-6 p.m. July 14 at Sullivan Funeral Home, 100 E. Travis in Marshall, with Rosary at 6-7 p.m. A funeral service is 10 a.m. July 15 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 N. Alamo Blvd. in Marshall, with Father Denzil Vithanage officiating. Burial will follow at Algoma North Cemetery, where she will be interred beside her husband, Patrick, and her parents.

Pallbearers are Landon Hawk, Lucas Hawk, Gordon Freeman, Carlin Freeman, William Kerr and Phil Brannon. Honorary pallbearers are Gwynne’s caregivers, Kathy Wills, Laura Castro and Laura Brown.
