Author to discuss humorous series set in Hill Country during Coffee Talks program

BURNET — Award-winning author Jane Myers Perrine will discuss her book series set in the Hill Country during a Coffee Talks program June 13 at the Herman Brown Free Library.

Refreshments will be served at 1:30 p.m. with the program following at 2 p.m. at the library, 100 E. Washington.

Perrine’s humorous “Butternut Creek” series centers around a young minister serving in the Hill Country, according to a library news release. The first book in the series, “The Welcome Committee of Butternut Creek,” was nominated for the RITA award for writers of women’s fiction. It was followed by “The Matchmakers of Butternut Creek” with the third book, “The Wedding Planners of Butternut Creek,” set for release later this year.

The Coffee Talks series resumes Oct. 10 with Peter R. Rose, a geologist turned historian, who will talk about his book “The Reckoning: the Triumph of Order on the Texas Outlaw Frontier.”
