Buddy Strange, 65, of Kingsland went home to be with his Lord Jesus on May 11, 2013, after a long illness. Buddy was born Dec. 2, 1947, in Fort Worth. He came to live with Joshua and Berity (Goldsmith) Strange as an infant and, at the age of 5, was adopted by them.

Buddy attended special education classes at a school in Arlington. After the death of his mother in 1985, Buddy went to live with his sister, Elaine Morris, in Llano. While in Llano, he worked at the Llano County Opportunity & Developmental Training Center. Buddy resided in several community care residential homes in Central Texas. At the time of his death, he was a resident at Kingsland Hills Care Center in Kingsland.

Buddy attended church at Bible Baptist Church in Llano and Grace Baptist Church in Kingsland during his time in Central Texas.

He participated in Special Olympics as a child and was an avid fan of the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys. Buddy never met a person he didn’t like. He was always happy and had a huge smile. Buddy touched the hearts of all he met and was loved dearly by family and many friends. Buddy loved his Lord dearly and delighted in singing and praising Him. He will be missed by all those he touched.

Buddy is survived by his sister, Elaine Morris of Kingsland; niece Sarah Untermyer and husband Barry of San Angelo; nephews Shawn Becker and wife Pam of Tow, Shannon Hagins and wife Lisa of Louisville, Ky., and Burl Lee “Bo” Morris and wife Tammy of Cleburne; four great-nieces and six great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and -nephews.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Strange.

A memorial service is 10 a.m. May 18 at Grace Baptist Church in Kingsland with the Rev. Jeff Davis officiating. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
