MARBLE FALLS — Coaching staff changes continue at Marble Falls and Burnet school districts.

Marble Falls High School running backs coach Shelton Gandy will leave at the end of the spring semester, head football coach Todd Dodge announced.

Gandy has a home in Denton that hasn’t sold, so he accepted a job at Ryan High School in Denton.

Gandy worked for Dodge when the two were at the University of North Texas, also in Denton.

Offensive line coach Brandon Murdock was approved for hire during the April board meeting. Murdock played for Dodge when the two were at Southlake Carroll High School. Murdock was the assistant offensive line coach the past five years there.

“I hired him right out of college,” Dodge said.

Jake Smith remains as the assistant offensive line coach, and Kyle Futrell will be the special teams coordinator.

Defensive coaches are coordinator and safeties coach Tony Salazar, cornerbacks coach Chase Hargis, line coach Ricky Sparks and linebackers coach Lee Munn.

Burnet athletic director and head football coach Kurt Jones announced the departure of inside linebackers coach Sean Pahira.

Jones said his goal is to have a candidate by the regular meeting of the Burnet Consolidated Independent School District board meeting May 20.

“I’m hoping to make a recommendation for that spot here quickly,” he said.

In addition, he has offered the position of Burnet Middle School boys athletic coordinator and has a candidate for a girls middle school coach but declined to give names.

He plans on presenting his candidates to board members May 20 and asking their approval for hire.
