Marble Falls baseball splits first two games at Kerrville Tivy tourney
COLLEGE STATION — The Marble Falls High School baseball team began the Kerrville Tivy tournament by splitting games Feb. 28 and March 1.
The Mustangs beat Fredericksburg 8-3 on March 1 but lost to Johnson 4-2 in the tournament opener Feb. 28.
Marble Falls head coach J.T. Blair said the Johnson players didn’t make mistakes and pounced on their opportunities when they had them.
“We didn’t play badly, just not good enough to win,” he said. “We had plenty of opportunities.”
AGAINST FREDERICKSBURG: Winning pitcher – Cody Goodman (2-1); Carson Bowen and Fabian Suarez each hit doubles.
AGAINST JOHNSON: Losing pitcher – Cole Ridgely (0-1)
