OBITUARY: Kathleen Henderson, 76, of Highland Haven enjoyed bowling, gardening and dancing

Kathleen “Kathy” Henderson, 76, of Highland Haven passed away Feb. 13, 2013. She was born to Deforest and Ila (Arnet) Ramsey on Feb. 21, 1936, in Westwood, Calif.

Kathy married John Shelly in 1951, and they had four children. They divorced, and she married James “Jim” Henderson in 1983 and moved to Marble Falls. He passed away in 1997. She also was preceded in death by her parents and a great-grandson, Brandon Shelly.

Kathy was a homemaker and a charter member — one of the last three — of the Highland Singles Club. She enjoyed bowling leagues, flower gardening, traveling and dancing.

She is survived by her companion, Jay Fullmer of Marble Falls; children, John A. and Diane Shelly of Nevada, Ronald W. Shelly of Sheridan, Wyo., Rick A. and Patricia Shelly of Bastrop and Cynthia M. Dilworth of Maricopa, Ariz.; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Kathy’s home was always open, and her grandchildren remember playing lots of games with her and her always there for them.

A celebration of life service is 1 p.m. March 2 at Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008. An online guest register may be signed at www.putnamcares.com. There will be a potluck dinner at the home of Kathy and Jay following the service.
