Look out over a beautiful Hill Country landscape while sewing and visiting with fellow quilters at the Cimarron Ranch Retreat Center. Located about five miles east of Marble Falls on RR 1431, the retreat has regular sewing days on Tuesdays and weekend retreats throughout the year.

“Just give me a call if you want to come out,” says owner Mary Clendennen, who says quilting is her passion and her mission. She started quilting about six years ago as a way of helping her grieve for a lost pet.

“I love the fellowship and friendships we build,” Clendennen says. “It’s about women building friendships and making quilts. It’s about the things we share, not only in fabrics, but also our joyful times and our sad times.”

Clendennen recently opened a quilt store on the ranch that she calls a convenience store. “It’s convenient for me and my friends,” she says, adding the nearest quilt store is an hour away from Marble Falls. Her shop specializes in Civil War reproduction fabrics. You have to call ahead to shop, however. It is not open for walk-in business. Call Clendennen at (830) 265 0202 if you, too, live to quilt.
