Lady Mustangs’ bats come alive in 17-0 win over Burnet

BURNET — The Marble Falls High School softball team dominated every phase of the game against Burnet on Feb. 19.
The Lady Mustangs scored 17 runs with the help of five Lady Dawg errors.

And every Marble Falls player had at least one hit on the night, totaling 17.
“We hit the ball really well,” Marble Falls head coach Tino Salazar said.
Freshman pitcher Makenzie Carpenter pitched all five innings for the Lady Mustangs and didn’t allow a run. Salazar said Carpenter, who spent the past two years playing for Burnet Middle School but enrolled at Marble Falls this year when her mother, Amanda, became the Lady Mustangs assistant coach, wanted to pitch.
“I’m happy all the way around,” Salazar said.
